A New Chapter — The Law Office of Keith D. Black, P.C.

Admitted to the New York State Bar in July 2007, I have devoted my entire legal career to the practice of Trusts and Estates law. My work encompasses estate and trust planning, administration, and Surrogate’s Court litigation, with additional focus on Elder Law, Guardianships, Special Needs Planning, and Real Estate.

As a litigator, my practice has included probate contests; accounting and kinship proceedings; discovery and turnover proceedings; trust invalidation matters; and proceedings to suspend or remove fiduciaries. I also regularly receive appointments from the Surrogate’s Courts as a Guardian ad Litem, representing minors and other persons under disability in estate and trust proceedings.

My greatest professional fulfillment comes from guiding families through the estate administration process—addressing not only the legal complexities involved, but also helping clients navigate the emotional experience of loss and transition with empathy, clarity, and care.

A Practice Built on Integrity and Relationships

In August 2008, I founded The Law Office of Keith D. Black, P.C. as a boutique trusts and estates practice. For more than eleven years, the firm grew organically and exclusively through word-of-mouth referrals from clients, families, colleagues, and professional advisors—including accountants, financial planners, and fellow attorneys. That growth reflected enduring relationships built on trust, responsiveness, and integrity rather than formal marketing or advertising.

Between 2019 and 2025, I had the privilege of working with three of Long Island’s most respected law firms—experiences that broadened my perspective and further refined my approach to advocacy and client service. Earlier in my career, I served as Law Clerk to the Honorable John B. Riordan, Nassau County Surrogate, and as an associate attorney to Mark J. Brosnan, Esq., Counsel to the Office of the Nassau County Public Administrator. Those formative roles continue to shape my professional values and approach to practice today.

Leadership, Teaching, and Professional Growth

From 2022 to 2023, I shared my passion for trusts and estates law as an instructor in the Hofstra University Maurice A. Deane School of Law Paralegal Studies Program, where I developed coursework and lectured through a comprehensive curriculum culminating in a final examination.

I also served as a Partner and Co-Chair of the Trusts & Estates Litigation Group at Falcon Rappaport & Berkman, LLP, a forward-thinking and rapidly growing law firm recognized for its collaborative culture and sophisticated, multidisciplinary practice.

A Return to Private Practice

In November 2025, I returned my full focus to private practice, bringing together nearly two decades of experience, insight, and professional relationships to provide highly personalized legal services in estate and trust planning, administration, litigation, guardianships, and elder law.

In addition to my legal practice, I am a licensed Real Estate Broker affiliated with eXp Realty, allowing me to more comprehensively assist clients with the real estate aspects of estate and trust matters. I also proudly collaborate with The Diamond Law Group in Massapequa Park, New York, on estate-related matters.

Beyond the Practice of Law

I am honored to have served as President (2016–2017) and later as Chairman of the Board of Directors (2020–2022) of the Nassau Lawyers’ Association of Long Island, Inc.

A proud Massapequa High School graduate (Class of 1997), I remain actively engaged in my community as a volunteer parent coach with the Massapequa Youth Wrestling Clinic. Having wrestled under legendary coaches Gary Mims and Al Bevilacqua, I experienced firsthand the lasting impact of mentorship, discipline, and teamwork—principles that continue to guide both my professional and personal life.

I also regularly lecture and speak to professional and community groups on trusts and estates topics, with a focus on education, preparation, and thoughtful planning for the future.

Looking Ahead

This new chapter represents both continuity and renewal—grounded in gratitude for the mentors, colleagues, clients, and families who have placed their trust in me over the years. I look forward to serving clients with the same integrity, compassion, and personal attention that have defined my practice from the beginning.

If I or my office can be of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
